The conference venue occupies a prime location in the Hungarian capital just a short distance from the city centre. Margitsziget, the 4 kilometre long island in the centre of the Danube, is a peaceful isle of tranquility overlooking Buda on one side and Pest on the other. The island’s famous natural spring waters are the basis for a wide range of therapeutic wellness and spa services much sought-after by locals and visitors alike. The largely car-free island is home to an expansive park, public lido, rose garden and Japanese garden.
The Danubius Health Spa Resort Margitsziget and Danubius Grand Hotel Margitsziget are situated at one end of the island. Built in 1872, the Grand Hotel was the first metropolitan spa hotel in the world to offer a wide range of spa services. The more modern Danubius Health Spa Resort, where the conference takes place, houses the wellness facilities and the two hotels are linked to one another via a connecting passage.
Facilities include indoor and outdoor pools, jacuzzi, thermal baths, therapeutic pools, sauna, solarium, steam room and aroma cabin and over 400 m² of fitness facilities. The Health Spa offers a range of medical wellness facilities including a cardio-centre, diagnostics facilities and balneo-, hydro-, kneipp- and physiotherapy. Conference and exhibition facilities
The conference takes place in the Danubius Health Spa Resort and a variety of exhibitors will be presenting related products and services in an exhibition space adjoining the restaurant and terrace. Meeting rooms can be arranged on request. Coffee, tea and refreshments are included.

Budapest – City of Spas
Buda and Pest, the two parts of the city from which the city derives its name, are separated by the majestic River Danube. In the 12th century, the Order of St John built a bath and ‘sick house’ in the city, which later became the Saint Elisabeth Hospital. The period of Turkish occupation heralded a new culture of communal bathing, and the Age of Enlightenment brought with it an increasing appreciation of the beneficial health properties of mineral waters. The density and variety of thermal spas in the city bear living testimony to the value of water as a revitalising element.
Accommodation
Accommodation is available on site and the Danubius Health Spa Resort Margitsziget is offering special preferential rates for BISA 2010 spa conference delegates. Single and double rooms are available as well as rooms for disabled guests and for smokers. You may book accommodation with the hotel when registering for the conference.
Price per night: 120 € for a single, 135 € for a double room. Prices include breakfast buffet, use of the spa, pool and fitness rooms and all taxes.
All rooms are air-conditioned rooms with a balcony overlooking either the Danube or Margaret Island. Rooms are equipped with TV with satellite channels, room safe, minibar, hairdrier, coffee and tea making facilities, and 220 V electric current outlets.
