Green Spa Opportunities (and Risks?) for Spa and Hotel Projects
by Ute Rührig
Why should a spa be “green”?
Energy demand will rise within the next 20 years at about 50%, studies tell us, with CO₂ emission growing commensurately.
Nonetheless, investors will not build in higher energy efficiency standards without being convinced of significant savings in operation costs from buildings that are energetically optimized.
What are the opportunities, what the risks to decide for more sustainability in your spa business practices? What does it mean for the spa operation, for marketing and cost reduction? How to come to an investment decision making. Have a look on realized and planned examples in spa and hotel resorts.
