Liquid Sound – A Present Day Catalyst For The Transformation Of Spa To Future Spa

The BISA Conference coincides with the 6th anniversary of the Toskana Therme Bad Sulza. Centrepiece of this spa is the experience and technical installation known as Liquid Sound®. Liquid Sound® is an integral computer-driven multimedia system for the coordinated deployment of light, sound and video above and below the water’s surface. Liquid Sound® is both relaxing as well as being an utterly contemporary bathing experience. In the Toskana Therme Bad Sulza, Liquid Sound® has marked a turning point in regional development. As an external project of the Expo 2000 and through further installations in the Liquidrom Berlin and Toskana Therme Bad Schandau, Liquid Sound® has achieved international recognition.

A decision for Liquid Sound® is a conscious decision to enrich the experience of visiting a thermal bath with innovative features not normally expected in conventional bathing establishments: the water becomes a stage for events which stimulate the senses, inspire one’s imagination and motivate a return to natural rhythms.

German media artist Micky Remann is the conceptual driving force behind Liquid Sound and cultural director of Toskana Therme, also known as a concert hall filled with water. He will discuss the historical origin, present day reality and future of the Liquid Sound multimedia concept of ‘bathing in light and music’.
